So its up to you what you want to do and if your looking to break your balls over a few errors in a 100 pass of linpack then so be it, but i would not worry about it and just use the rig. as i fold at least 12 hours a day and play all my games NP's and Orthos at least 12 hours and linpack 10 loops (3-6 times). you will never be stressing your rig to the limits as linpack does. I say then your stable enough to run 24/7 whether it is at 3.2 or 3.4ghz. I like Orthos BLEND TEST better myself, but thats just me, but you need to run 2 instances of it to work all cores. This could be the issue over all with your rig.Īll i can say is if it can pass 10 loops of intel linpack (3-6 times) and orthos blend or prime95 take (your pick) for at least 12 hours. Hmm i am just wondering if one memory module is crapping out when you try to go to 3.4ghz or even at 3.2ghz or maybe the memory controller is. I guess I wills et it back to stock speeds for now as this has been my biggest OC failure in about 10 years. This CPU does not seem to like 3200mhz speeds. I don't error out until about 30 passes usualy.ĬPU is at 3400 MHZ, I tried booting with 8GB of memory at 3200 MHZ and ended up rebooting the Bios. More NB voltage (up to 1.6v) does not help at all, More Memvoltage (up to 1.95v) does not seem to help at all. More CPU voltage (up to 1.4v) does not seem to help at all.

#What does your 8350 get on intel burn test upgrade#

Only 4 is needed right now but it seems to open close photoshop and photo editing stuff faster with 8GB (lots of stuff open at once) event hough I have never sceen mem usage hit 8GB.The reason I had to upgrade my last PC was because everyone thought only 2GB owuld be needed for a long time, but I ended up needing 4GB.I dont think it will be too long until 8GB is the new standard. LOL.I dont want to have to buy a new PC in the future to run 8GB ram. I don't require 8GB of memory, but who knows maybe in future gaming they may make a game that uses 4GB or more. I am not sure whats the issue of your CPU not OCing more then 3.2ghz unless it is a severe DUD or maybe its an issue else where. thats all i am running, but i am sure i can run 8GB, but again i am not sure if i can do so at 3.6ghz on this mobo that i have, but may others are. My question is do you really need to use 8GB of memory. It could be voltage issues on other components that maybe not allowing you to OC higher or a PSU issue. It maybe possible the memory controller can't handle 8GB of memory while your OCing, but maybe at stock it can or maybe you need to increase volts to the NB a little more to run stable with 8GB. only reboots it after a week of folding to regain MAX performance.

He also Orthos Blended for 24 hrs and he folds 24/7 never shuts PC off. his Vcore is around 1.25-1.32 something like that or maybe it is 1.38 can't remember right now, but its around those volts.
